Lavie Mini: A Laptop That Works Like A Gaming Platform

This year at CES 2021, Lenovo showcased a Lavie-branded device, the Lavie Mini, which looks like an 8-inch laptop.
This computer comes with the new Lenovo IdeaPad 5 series, the new Yoga 7 AIO computer, new displays and the launch of the new Lenovo Tab P11 as part of the company’s announcements at CES.
The Lavie Mini is technically a pocket PC, but it packs a lot of concepts into a two-in-one convertible PC.

Lavie Mini technical characteristics

The device has an 8-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and can be configured with an 11th generation Intel Core-i7 processor with an Intel Iris Xe graphics card.
There’s a 256GB SSD inside with 16GB of LPDDR4 memory, and with an optical touch sensor instead of a trackpad.
With a total weight of 579g, the Lavie Mini is quite easy to transport and it comes with a small keyboard with round backlit keys.
The compact device also includes an infrared camera with Windows Hello for seamless connections, a 26-watt battery, and standard Wi-Fi 6 support.
Also, the device comes with a special optional game controller that turns the mini laptop into a portable gaming platform similar to the Nintendo Switch.

According to Lenovo, the device can handle high-end PC games, such as Battle Royale and car racing games.
The joystick comes with all the buttons and switches needed to play with the vibrations, left and right trigger buttons, and analog sticks.
Just like the Nintendo Switch, you can use the optional HDMI docking station to play games on the big screen.
The Lavie Mini is currently a prototype. Lenovo has not shared any launch or pricing plans.

Lenovo also introduced its second device from the Lavie Pro Mobile brand, which is a more traditional size laptop.

This device marks an upgrade from last year’s device with the option of an eighth-generation Intel Core processor. This year, Lenovo is offering some upgrades, including longer battery life and improved key movement for a better typing experience.
The laptop also comes with a hinge to tilt the keyboard according to personal preference. The device can be configured with an eleventh generation Intel Core-i7 processor with Intel Iris Xe graphics and a 13.3-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
The company claims that the battery life can be up to 10 hours, and the price of the laptop starts at $ 1,699.99.
